Shauna Kopren is the District Manager for the Perkins County Conservation District located in the northwest area of South Dakota. Shauna grew up on a cattle and sheep ranch in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Canada and after attending Dickinson State University married her college sweetheart and moved to South Dakota. Her experiences are in natural resource management and communications, and besides working for the district administrating grants and working with producers she has been published in multiple newspapers and magazines. Prior to becoming district manager, she worked as editor for the North Dakota Water Education Foundations North Dakota Water magazine.

Shauna and Lane ranch on the family ranch south of Prairie City where they spend their days raising cattle, sheep and children.

Favorite grasslands species: Narrow leaf purple coneflower, Loggerhead shrike, Barn owl
