About Perkins County
Perkins County is the second largest in South Dakota.
Known for ranching, farming, and hunting, Perkins County is home to plentiful cattle and sheep, as well as numerous wildlife species such as mule deer, whitetail, antelope, pheasants, grouse, and many others.
The county encompasses 2,890 square miles measuring approximately 63 miles North-South and 46 miles East - West. 79% of the total land area is used in some type of agriculture.
